‘Myths & Miracles’
Magical Thinking and the Medieval Mind Armonia
Nova Constance Whiteside, artistic
director
Armonia Nova explores the medieval world of the miraculous, a world of allegorical thought and
hidden meanings, interwoven through songs of the natural world and the people and animals that inhabit it. A
nightingale, a panther in league with Jupiter and Mars, a unicorn, a turtle dove flying over a meadow, music
written in the shape of a harp, a marvelous serpent -- evoke images full of meaning and wonder for the inhabitants
of this world. Armonia Nova invites you to see the world through medieval eyes, to experience the
marvelous.
